Founder of the Bioterapia Nutrizionale® method and of the Center for Research and Study "Vis Sanatrix Naturae"

Biographical information, research and didactic activity

Dr. Arcari Morini is born in Rome, January 1, 1937

She registers with the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the university La Sapienza in Rome; as a student, she frequents the Department of Surgery under the direction of Prof. Valdoni.

During her academic years from 1960-5, she is an intern at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic at the University of Rome under the direction of Profs. Luigi Cattaneo initially, and Eugenio Maurizio and Giuseppe Valle later; she dedicates herself to research on coagulation factors and Rh incompatibilities in pregnancy.

During her studies, as early as 1961, she contemplates changing the course of her research to develop an original idea: the possibility of using the biochemical components in food to form drugs.

She leaves university research to advance the idea of the pharmacological potential of foods and their combinations to achieve a synergistic, therapeutic effect. Over the years, she identifies possible protocols for various ailments.

She holds numerous seminars and conferences dealing exclusively with nutritional therapies, directed especially at those who cannot or prefer not to use pharmaceuticals.

October 10, 1993 she obtains a Master of Arts in Human Behavior, Naturopathy, and Nutrition at the Newport University of California, USA.

As of November 11, 1993 she is founder and director of the Center for Research and Study in Applied Natural Medicine “Vis Sanatrix Naturae” (Italian: “Centro di Ricerche e Studi di Medicina Naturale Applicata ‘Vis Sanatrix Naturae’ ”), also home to a training school for doctors specializing in the Bioterapia Nutrizionale® method.

May 27, 1995 she is elected for her merit in science Associated Member of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS) in Moscow, Russia.

December 20, 1995 she receives a degree as Doctor of Philosophy in Human Behavior, Naturopathy, and Nutrition at the Newport University in Utah, USA.

From June 16-21, 1997 she participates in an intensive course on “Early diagnosis for the treatment of fulminant myocarditis, variant micro elemental homeostasis” at the Central Scientific Research Laboratory at the People’s Friendship University of Russia in Moscow.

From 1986 to 1998, uninterrupted, she is nutrition docent at the Italian Association of Sommeliers (“Associazione Italiana Sommeliers”), Lazio branch.

In November 1994, she officially inaugurates at Vis Sanatrix Naturae, under her own didactic direction, the first training course in the Bioterapia Nutrizionale® method. It is reserved exclusively for doctors and lasts four academic years with a mandatory attendance of 6 academic hours every 15 days.

As of January 30, 1996, she is co-teacher at the International Institute of Coffee Tasters.

June 1996, she is entrusted with direction of the Department of Naturopathy in accord with Newport University.

November 18, 1996 she is appointed docent of Bioterapia Nutrizionale® and Iridology at the Italian Branch of Newport University, Department of Human Behavior, concentration Naturopathy.

November 1996, Dr. Arcari Morini opens the second training course in Bioterapia Nutrizionale®, which she co-teaches along with her original students, Drs. Anna D’Eugenio and Fausto Aufiero.

April 18, 1998, Dr. Arcari Morini holds the conference “Nutrition and Ataxia” (“Alimentazione e Atassia”) at the National Convention of the Association for the Fight Against Ataxia (“Convegno Nazionale dell’Associazione per la lotta alle Atassie”). Bioterapia Nutrizionale®, along with the Association for the Fight Against Ataxia, initiates a program of experimental research, still underway.

In November 1998, Dr. Arcari Morini initiates the third training course in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® , which she co-teaches with her students Drs. Anna D’Eugenio, Fausto Aufiero, and Vincenzo De Paola, at the center Vis Sanatrix Naturae.

May 15, 1999 Dr. Arcari Morini organizes the 1st Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® entitled: “Therapeutic use of food in endocrine and neoplastic disorders” (“Utilizzo terapeutico dell’alimento nelle patologie endocrine e neoplastiche”) in the Hotel Parco dei Principi convention center, via G. Frescobaldi 5, Rome. Topics covered: “Managing risks in menopause” (“Gestione dei rischi della menopausa”) and “The haemolymphopoietic system and neoplastic disease” (“Il sistema emolinfopoietico e la malattia neoplastica”).

Also on May 15, 1999, Vis Sanatrix Naturae’s first book, “Nutrition and Organ Function” (Nutrizione e Funzioni Organiche), written by Dr. Arcari Morini in collaboration with Drs. Anna D’Eugenio and Fausto Aufiero, is presented at the convention.

May 27, 2000, the 2nd Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® is held, under the title “Therapeutic use of food in diabetes and liver disorders” (“Utilizzo terapeutico dell’alimento nel diabete e nelle patologie epatiche”) at the Hotel Parco dei Principi convention center, Rome, under patronage of the head of state, and with sponsorship from the Italian branch of the European Parliament, of the Regional Council of Lazio, of the Italian Red Cross, and of the Provincial Administration of Rome, Department of Social and Political Services for Families (“Amministrazione Provinciale di Roma- Assessorato ai Servizi Sociali e Politiche per la Comunità Familiare”).

Dr. Arcari Morini covers the following topics: “Childhood diabetes of iatrogenic origin” (“Diabete infantile di origine iatrogena”) in collaboration with Dr. Christiana Fornari; “Iridological indications in diabetic patients and in predisposition to diabetes” (“Segni iridologici in pazienti diabetic e nelle predisposizioni diabetiche”) in collaboration with Dr. Lucia Sentuti; “Bioterapia Nutrizionale® in steatosis and in viral hepatitis” (“Bioterapia Nutrizionale® nelle steatosi e nelle epatiti virali”) in collaboration with Dr. Fausto Aufiero.

On the same date, the first volume of Vis Sanatrix Naturae’s second book, written by Dr. Arcari Morini in collaboration with Drs. Anna D’Eugenio and Fausto Aufiero, is released: “Foods and their Associations” (Alimenti e le loro Associazioni)

In November 2000, the fourth training course in the Bioterapia Nutrizionale® method is opened at Vis Sanatrix Naturae. Dr. Arcari Morini co-teaches along with the most qualified of her students: Drs. Anna D’Eugenio, Fausto Aufiero, Vincenzo de Paola, Antonio Sbardella, and Francesco Steiner.

January 19, 2001 Vis Sanatrix Naturae registers the trademark Bioterapia Nutrizionale®, which identifies the therapeutic method.

May 19-20, 2001, Dr. Arcari Morini holds the 3rd Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® entitled: “Intestinal parasitic disease- Hyptertension- Ulcerative Colitis- Crohn’s disease” at the Hotel Parco dei Principi convention center under patronage of the head of state, and sponsorship from the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Health, Academy of the History of Medicine (“Accademia di Storia dell’Arte Sanitaria”), Italian Red Cross, Province of Rome, Provincial Administration of Rome- Department of Social and Political Services for Families, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. 
The following topics are covered by Dr. Arcari Morini in collaboration with two of her original students, Drs. Anna D’Eugenio and Fausto Aufiero: “Communication: results of ‘bio-nutritional’ treatment in six cases of intestinal tapeworm” (“Communicazione: risultati del trattamento bionutrizionale in sei casi di tenia intestinale”); “ ‘Bio-nutritional’ principals in acute hypertensive crisis” (“Presidi bionutrizionali nella crisi ipertensiva acuta”); “Nutritional and therapeutic functions of food: clinical examples of rapid and effective biological recovery in acute and chronic diseases” (“Funzioni nutrizionali e terapeutiche dell’alimento: esempi clinici di rapidità ed efficacia biologica riparativa nelle patologie acute e croniche”). May 19, 2001 the second volume of Vis Sanatrix Naturae’s second book, written by Dr. Arcari Morini in collaboration with Drs. Anna D’Eugenio and Fausto Aufiero, is released: “Foods and their Associations” (Alimenti e le loro Associazioni).

January 19, 2002 Dr. Arcari Morini participates as spokeswoman at a convention on menopause at the convention center Conte di Cavour. She covers the topic, “Diet and menopause” (“Alimentazione e menopausa”).

May 4-5, 2002, she organizes the 4th Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® entitled: “Male and female infertility and its problems” (“Sterilità maschile e femminile e loro problematiche”) at the Hotel Parco dei Principi convention center, Rome, under sponsorship from the Presidency of the Republic, Senate, House of Representatives, Council of Ministers, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, University, and Research, Province of Rome, Municipality of Rome, Red Cross, and the Academy of the History of Medicine (“Accademia di Storia dell’Arte Sanitaria”). The following topics are covered: “Blood sugar regulation and improvement of seminal fluid” (“Regolazione glicemica e miglioramento del liquido seminale”); “Alteration of vaginal mucous in Bioterapia Nutrizionale®” (“Modificazione del muco vaginale in Bioterapia Nutrizionale®”); “Libido-inducing ‘bio-nutritional’ associations and foods” (“Alimenti ed associazioni bionutrizionali per l’induzione della libido”).

May 4, 2002, Vis Sanatrix Naturae’s monograph entitled “Menopause” (Menopausa), written in collaboration with Drs. Anna D’Eugenio and Fausto Aufiero, is released at the 4th Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale®.

October 19, November 9 and 16, 2002, she is director and docent of the first preparatory course in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® at the Academy of the History of Medicine (Accademia di Storia dell’Arte Sanitaria) for the fulfillment of credits for doctors (28 credits are awarded for attendance).

In November 2002, the fifth training course in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® is opened, which she co-teaches along with the most qualified of her students: Drs. Anna D’Eugenio, Fausto Aufiero, Vincenzo de Paola, Antonio Sbardella, Francesco Steiner and Paolo Ricotta. The course lasts four academic years, with a mandatory attendance of 12 academic hours every month.

November 16, 2002 she covers the topic: “Obesity and metabolic disorders: Bioterapia Nutrizionale® (“Obesità e malattie dismetaboliche: Bioterapia Nutrizionale®”) at a convention.

January 27, 2003 she is nominated active member of the History of Biology sector at the Academy of the History of Medicine (Accademia di Storia dell’Arte Sanitaria)

May 3,4, 25 and June 7-8, 2003 she presides as director and teacher of the second preparatory course in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® at the Academy of the History of Medicine (Accademia di Storia dell’Arte Sanitaria). Doctors receive 28 credits for attending the course.

May 10-11, 2003 she is chairwoman and organizer of the 5th Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® entitled, “Diet in middle age and the elderly, insomnia, depression, panic attacks, and chemotherapy” (“Alimentazione nell’età matura e nell’anziano, insomnia, depressione e crisi di panico, alimentazione durante i trattamenti chemioterapici”) at the Hotel Parco dei Principi convention center, under sponsorship from the Presidency of the Republic, Senate, House of Representatives, Council of Ministers, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, University, and Research, Province of Rome, Municipality of Rome, Red Cross, and the Academy of the History of Medicine (“Accademia di Storia dell’Arte Sanitaria”). The following topics are presented in collaboration with Dr. Maria Rita Gulino: “Alterations and disorders of the libido in the third decade of life” (“Modificazioni e disturbi della libido a partire dal terzo decennio di vita”); “The difference between pharmacological and ‘bio-nutritional’ treatment of hospitalized geriatrics” (“Differenza tra trattamenti farmacologici e bionutrizionali in pazienti geriatric ospedalizzati”). October 29, 2003 she is nominated Corrisponding Member to the Academy of the History of Medicine (“Accademia di Storia dell’Arte Sanitaria”) by decree of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage Prot. 5677-1.2003.

November 29-30, and December 13-14 2003, she is director and docent of the third preparatory course in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® at the Academy of the History of Medicine (“Accademia di Storia dell’Arte Sanitaria”). Doctors who attend are awarded 28 credits.

January 16, 2004 she is nominated to the Accademia Tiberina in honor of her contributions in the field of scientific research.

June 19-20, 2004 she organizes the 6th Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® entitled “The skin and its disorders” (“La pelle e le sue patologie”) at the Hotel Parco dei Principi convention center, Rome.

April 23-24, 2005, she organizes the 7th Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® entitled: “Obesity and metabolism: oncological diseases” (“Obesità e metabolismo. Patologie oncologiche” at the convention center of Hotel Parco dei Principi, Rome.

June 10-11, 2006 she organizes the 8th Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® entitled: “Foods and their associations: possible solutions in various disorders” (“Alimenti e associazioni alimentari: possibili soluzioni in alcune patologie”) at the convention center of Hotel Parco dei Principi, Rome. The following topics are covered: “The energetic-physiological relationships in heart and kidney function: ‘bio-nutritional’ implications” (“Rapporti energetico-fisiologici delle funzioni cardiac e renale: risvolti bionutrizionali”); “Wheat intolerance: clinical cases of food intolerance” (“Intolleranze al frumento: casi clinici di intolleranze alimentari”); “Clinical cases of nutritional treatment of Alzheimer’s disease” (“Casi clinici del trattamento nutrizionale dell’Alzheimer”).

May 19-20, 2007 she organizes the 9th Convention in Bioterapia Nutrizionale® entitled: “ ‘Bio-nutritional’ assessment and treatment of food intolerance, malabsorption, and colon disease; oncological diseases and their complications; childhood obesity and alterations in hormonal development” (“Valutazioni e trattamenti bionutrizionali: intolleranze alimentary, malassorbimento e colonpatie; patologie oncologiche e loro complicanze; obesità infantile ed alterazione dello sviluppo ormonale”) at the convention center of Hotel Parco dei Principi, Rome.

July 20, 2006 “Bioterapia Nutrizionale®: Therapeutic recipe book for doctors and patients” (Bioterapia Nutrizionale®, ricettario terapeutico per medici e pazienti), written in collaboration with Dr. Fausto Aufiero, is published.

In the same year, the first volume of Bioterapia Nutrizionale® Applied” (Bioterapia Nutrizionale® Applicata), written in collaboration with Dr. Fausto Aufiero, is printed. It is the challenging, 1,312-page textbook that is the foundation for nutritionists training in the method.

In 2007, the second and third volumes of the aforementioned textbook are printed.

September 18, 2007 Dr. Domenica Arcari Morini passes away, leaving behind an immense cultural heritage for her students to develop and disseminate. Dr. Fausto Aufiero is entrusted with direction of all activity, therapeutic and didactic, founded by Dr. Arcari Morini.
